What is yoga?
In the West, we’ve come to know yoga mostly as a set of physical postures that challenge our strength, focus and flexibility. These physical postures are called āsanas.
The yogic way of life finds it origin in India. Yoga is Sanskrit for ‘union’ and the goal of yoga is to control the mind so that we can unite with a calm state of contentment and joy (samadhi). Regular yoga practice has a beneficial effect on your body as well as your emotional state.
For some, yoga classes will remain a nice way to exercise and experience relaxation. For others, it might feel like an invitation to incorporate more and more elements of yoga in your daily life.
Our Yoga teachers will not only guide you through the movements of the physical postures (āsanas) but will also incorporate breathwork (pranayama) to reach a calm state of contentment and joy.
